#1920X1080 JUST CAUSE 4 IMAGES PS4#But the PS4 usually wins in both categories.įirst rabid Ps fanboys need to hush up with their hypocrisy UC4 multi is 900p yet u all are ok with that. MULTIPLATS WITH HIGHER FRAME-RATE ON XBOX ONE (source: Digital Foundry):ĭragon Age Inquisition (lesser resolution) #1920X1080 JUST CAUSE 4 IMAGES PATCH#The Witcher 3 - after patch 1.10 (higher resolution) MULTIPLATS WITH HIGHER FRAME-RATE ON PS4 (source: Digital Foundry): The non-fanboys know that I'm telling the truth. I'm sure I'll get a ton of disagrees from all the guys out there with 20/10 vision that can spot a missing pixel 12 feet away from their TV, and that's fine. Meanwhile they could be playing the Xbox version and would never know it if it wasn't for the controller in their hands. They read these comparisons, look at screenshots online, and happily brag about PS4 being better. But it's reached the point where you need a magnifying glass (figuratively) to pick out the differences.Įven most of the people who swear they can tell a difference haven't really done a side by side comparison. The PS4 version of some games is technically superior. I'm not saying there is no difference at all. PS4 guys are going to get the PS4 version, Xbox guys are going to get the Xbox version.Īnd if you showed any of them the other version, they probably wouldn't notice any differences. It's pointless and not liable to change anyone's mind at this stage of the game. #1920X1080 JUST CAUSE 4 IMAGES 1080P#Go "upscale" a SNES game to 1080p and see if that looks just as good as a native 1080p image. These console upscalers are just cheap stretch-and-filter scalers, they have to be at the price they sell for. Ones used in home theaters to do it cost more than the xbone and PS4 combined. These don't do interpolation as it is MUCH too intensive. You need to learn the difference between upscaling and interpolation. Native resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping always looks best. It doesn't magically add the missing details. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well and details blur out especially distant ones and it ruins texture sharpness. Then it adds a filter to blur out the resulting jaggies. It just stretches the lower res image to fit the screen so you don't have a big border. That is EXACTLY what upscaling in these consoles do. " Upscaling is not blowing the image up or magnifying it" Since I only play single player games UC4 is 1080p for me all day. See I can pick the part that makes my argument too. You say "UC4 is 900p" I say UC4 is 1080p. The problem is that it is also 1080p in single player which is the main thing for Uncharted games. LamerTamer 2556d ago (Edited 2556d ago like how you guys just pick out the "900p" part to get to the conclusion you are trying for which is PS4 does it so xbone doing it too is no big deal. I suspect that Avalanche will have to have made some big concessions on XB1's physics to get the game working on that platform. Just Cause 3 is packing the same kind of physics that Crackdown 3's developers and Microsoft are touting as massively advanced, yet what's funny is that game doesn't need the cloud to make it a reality. That's packing some ridiculously great IQ techniques.Īctually as far as IQ goes PS4 definitely dominates, along with using actual advanced physics in game. #1920X1080 JUST CAUSE 4 IMAGES FULL#Horizon Zero Dawn is arguably an even more impressive feat, given it's open world setting, with full dynamic physics, lighting and weather. Halo 5 still needs to make other concessions to the game, like running animations at half the frame rate, doing nothing but scripted physics events and the animations are absolutely terrible, definitely not on the level of Uncharted 4. #1920X1080 JUST CAUSE 4 IMAGES 720P#Halo 5 spends a large chunk of it's time running at 1152X810= 933,120 pixels per frame, for reference 720p is 1280X720= 921,600 pixels per frame, so Halo 5's main native resolution is barely any better than Halo 4 on the 360, IQ is way worse on the XB1, hell the level of jaggies and poor AF in that game does my head in every time I see it.ĭespite Halo 5 running 60FPS, at it's main resolution it's only pushing 55,987,200 pixels per second, way less than Uncharted 4's single player and massively worse than the single player. MrSec84 2556d Actually Naughty Dog outstrips basically every other studio for image quality, hell Uncharted 4 has the best looking AA and AF techniques of any game seen on the current gen.ĭespite pushing for phenomenal visuals the MP still manages a more demanding output.įor reference 1920X1080= 2,073,600 pixels, at 30FPS that means the SP is packing 62,208,000 pixels in a second, the MP runs at 1600X900= 1,440,000 pixels per frame, but it's running at 60FPS, so it's actually more demanding than a 1080p 30FPS, outputting 86,400,000 pixels per second. ![]()
